"A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost."

Today is my Sister's birthday, my much older Sister. Heehee! :) She may be two years older, but come on--NO ONE would believe it! We don't look very much alike--I'm a brunette, she's blonde; I'm taller by 5 inches; she looks young, and I have these gigantic bags under my eyes which I blame on my kids. But if you know us, yah, we are very much alike. In fact, our Mom can't always tell us apart on the phone; she waits for us to laugh before she decides which daughter it is. We can read each other's minds, finish each other's sentences, and have that innate sister understanding that is impossible to explain. We're not twins by a long shot (remember that one guy on the DC metro who asked if we were TWINS? HAHAHAHA!) but we have that bond like twins.

The best thing about having a sister is having a built-in BFF. We have had plenty of disagreements/hair-pulling-fights/I-will-tell-Mom-everything bribes, but in the end, she knows me better than anyone else and has my back like no one else. I am blessed merely to know the incredible woman that she is, let alone to be related and get to spend lots of time w/ her.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SIS! I'm glad we got to celebrate early last weekend. Hope the flowers are still going strong.
